Kina Vases

Blown glass objects with patterns made using the filigrana technique and inspired by Kina shells (Sea Urchin).

New Zealand has about 70 sea urchin species. Kina, a New Zealand endemic, is the best-known species and considered a delicacy by Māori. Resembling a curled-up green hedgehog, Kina has a nearly spherical shell protecting its internal organs.
